Deputies search for clues on I-75 trucker robberyBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published May 11, 2002 WESLEY CHAPEL -- Pasco County sheriff's deputies were seeking information about the man who robbed a trucker near an Interstate 75 rest stop early Thursday morning. Gregory Christion, 37, of Memphis, Tenn., told deputies that he had stopped about 2 a.m. just north of the rest area in Wesley Chapel to check the temperature of his refrigerated trailer. He said two men in a black, two-door Honda stopped several feet behind him. He said the driver got out and demanded Christion's wallet. The man implied that he had a gun and threatened Christion, saying "I will pull it out and use it on you." Christion said he handed over the wallet, which contained about $360. He described the robber as an Hispanic man with a stocky build, short dark hair and a tattoo on his right forearm. He said the man was wearing a dirty white T-shirt and denim shorts, and he stood about 5 feet 6 inches tall. No arrests had been made Friday. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • St. Petersburg Times
