Projects will add 7 new stores
By JAMES THORNER, Times Staff Writer NEW TAMPA -- Seven new restaurants and stores, including an Arby's and Tire Kingdom, will join the recently opened SuperTarget at Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and County Line Road in Wesley Chapel. Developer Kimco Realty Corp. has plans to build a 2,800-square-foot Arby's northeast of the junction of Big Creek Drive and County Line Road, at the entrance to the Lakes at Northwood neighborhood. Arby's is a fast-food franchise specializing in roast beef sandwiches. Next door to the Arby's will be a 6,840-square-foot Tire Kingdom, the national tire and auto repair chain. "We're looking at starting construction in about two months," said project engineer Ryan Hirstein of Florida Engineering and Environmental. Both are considered "outparcels" of the new Northwood Commercial Center dominated by a 184,000-square-foot SuperTarget that opened in March. Another outparcel beside SuperTarget fronting Bruce B. Downs Boulevard will hit the market roughly the same time as the Arby's and Tire Kingdom. Hirstein said the building will house five smaller stores and boutiques, but tenants have yet to be confirmed. The increase in development around SuperTarget is further proof that the New Tampa shopping district is spreading north into Pasco County, where neighborhoods such as Meadow Pointe and Seven Oaks are building thousands of new homes. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • St. Petersburg Times
