Registration under way for Frisbee league

Bay Area Ultimate is holding registration for its co-ed summer Frisbee league. Play runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m. every Monday from June 24 through July 27 at the USF intramural fields. The $25 fee includes team jersey and disc. Registration deadline is Saturday. For information, call Bret at 354-8902.

Little League team wins runner-up trophy

The Keystone Thunder Junior Little League Division baseball team captured the Tapi Rodriguez Baseball Tournament runner-up trophy June 6. Ten West Tampa teams of 13- and 14-year-olds competed in the spring season that culminated in the tournament at West Tampa Little League Park.

Thunder coaches Dale Knight and Orlando Bacon Sr. said excellent pitching, timely hitting, speed and good overall defense were the keys to the team's success. The Thunder lost in the final game to Interbay, 0-4. Minimal mistakes, talent and good coaching led to Interbay's win, Knight said. "They played well together as a team."
