2 men identified as 'Rolex Bandit' suspects

WEST PALM BEACH -- Authorities identified two Miami men Thursday suspected of being the so-called "Rolex Bandits" responsible for more than 40 robberies.
The men robbed dozens of women driving luxury cars of their expensive watches and jewelry in Palm Beach and Broward counties from 1998 to 2000, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
One of the suspects, Rodney D. Jackson, 32, was sent to federal prison in September 2000 for a 1995 Brinks armored car robbery. The other, Darryll Eugene Capers, 36, remains free.
Federal officials began suspecting Jackson could be one of the "Rolex Bandits" when the robberies stopped around the time of his arrest.
He recently confessed to the jewelry robberies when police showed him DNA evidence gathered from a glove that one victim took off of one of the thieves.
Jackson then told authorities of Capers' involvement.
Officers believe Capers pulled off most of the heists and that Jackson often drove the getaway car. They suspect that Capers has left Florida.
