CARROLLWOOD: Hillsborough County commissioners gave M/I Schottenstein Homes a thumbs-up on its request to develop a 110-home subdivision on 34 acres on the east side of Henderson Road, north of Williamsburg Way. Lot sizes will range from 7,150 square feet to 7,770 square feet with three homes to the acre. County staff and the Planning Commission had endorsed the development, saying it was compatible with the surrounding residential development. (Petition 02-0794)

CARROLLWOOD: A request to allow more commercial development on 3.8 acres at the southeast corner of Gunn Highway and Henderson Road won the support of commissioners at Tuesday's hearing. The approved land-use change will allow developers to build up to 25,000 square feet of commercial space on the property. A 2,940-square-foot 7-Eleven convenience store with gas pumps now occupies the property. (Petition 02-0683)

LUTZ: The owners of a quarter-acre on the south side of Chapman Road, east of Florida Avenue, won a rezoning that will allow them to convert a single-story home into an office. The Planning Commission endorsed the request and said the "property's viability as a residence has diminished by the development of significant commercial" growth in the immediate area. (Petition 02-0708)
