Business Today
CHECKERS REPLACES CHAIRMAN: For the second time in 15 months, Checkers Drive-In Restaurants Inc. of Tampa has a new chairman. Peter O'Hara, a Checkers franchisee and commercial real estate developer in New York, has replaced Ronald Maggard, who was elected chairman late last year. A company statement Tuesday said Maggard, a Long John Silver franchisee, was stepping down to "focus on activities closer to his West Coast home." O'Hara had served as vice chairman at Checkers for more than three years. Neither Maggard nor chief executive Dan Dorsch returned a phone call seeking comment.
