The Cat Fanciers Association Cat Show this year moves from the Hilton in downtown St. Petersburg to Clearwater's Harborview Center. Held both Saturday and Sunday, it's a judged show with more than 400 cats representing 35 breeds.
Music, food, fun to inhabit Honeymoon Island
The Honeymoon Island Seafood Fest and Boat Show just keeps expanding. In its fourth year, the Thanksgiving weekend festival has grown to include three days of music, food, canoes, kayaks, boats and now, new this year, an environmental education area. Osprey Village, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, will feature guided nature walks and talks on fishing, plants, birds, sea turtles, rocks and fossils.
Festival hours are 3 to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 per car until 5 p.m., $10 per car after 5 p.m..
The music lineup includes De Lei'ed Parrots, Dukes of Juke and Pocket Change on Friday; Calypso Sound, Lounge Cat, Impulse, the Lee Boys and It's a Beautiful Day on Saturday; and Calypso Sound, Drew Street Mary and Dan O'Brien and the Groupers on Sunday.
