SCHOOL FUNDRAISER: The Iron Club at Durant High is sponsoring a students-only bodybuilding contest tonight to raise money to build a new fieldhouse and purchase weights. The event is at 7 p.m. at the school, 4748 Cougar Path. Guest speaker will be bodybuilder Joey Perea of the Athletic Club in Brandon. Everyone is invited, tickets are $6 at the door. Call 757-9075.

GOLF TOURNAMENT: The Sun City Center Rotary Club will have its annual spring golf tournament on April 10 at Freedom Fairways, 3932 Upper Creek Drive, Sun City Center. Money will benefit student scholarships. The day will include continental breakfast, lunch, door prizes and cart. Cost is $200 per foursome, or $60 per person. Sponsorship levels range from $150 to $1,000. Call 642-1265.

GOLF BENEFIT: The third annual golf tournament by Riverview's DeSoto Masonic Lodge 105 is April 24 at the Apollo Beach Golf Club, 801 Golf and Sea Blvd., Apollo Beach. Registration begins at 7 a.m., shotgun start is at 8 a.m. Cost is $75 and includes greens fees, cart, lunch and awards banquet. Proceeds benefit college scholarships for Hillsborough County High School seniors. Call 645-0723.

PATRIOTS WIN: The Brandon Area Youth Soccer League (BAYSL) Patriots U12 girls soccer team won the Hillsborough County United Gasparilla Cup for the second straight year. Their coach is Al Grinnel and assistant coach is Robin Hastings. The team won all five tournament games, scoring 16 total goals while shutting out every opposing team. Members of the team are Amy Alonso, Samantha Buterbaugh, Nicole Byrum, Christine Darnell, Michelle Elston, Nicole Grinnell, Ashleight Hall, Holly Herbert, Nicole Juettner, Eve King, Alexandria Kingston, Elizabeth McKay, Abby Thrasher and Brittany Yates.
