Families interested in educating their children at home may get assistance from a support network of Hernando County's homeschool families known as Home Circle.
The group meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, from August through May, at Community Bible Church, 5041 Griffin Road (at Powell Road), south of Brooksville.
An orientation for new homeschool parents begins at 6:15 p.m. prior to the regular meeting. The meeting is for adults only, though nursing infants are welcome. Due to the busy holiday season, Home Circle does not meet in December.
Aside from the meetings, information about home education is available by calling Home Circle at 796-3050. The group also has a Web site, www.geocities.com/homecircular Families who choose to educate their children at home must register with the Hernando County School District. For information, call the district's office of student services at 797-7008.
