"RED HOT AND COLE' continues through May 15 at the Show Palace Dinner Theatre, 16128 U.S. 19, Hudson. Shows are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 3 p.m. Sundays and 1:30 p.m. some Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Doors open two hours before each show for buffet and full cash bar. MOZART'S "THE MAGIC FLUTE' will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 Pine St., Tarpon Springs. The opera will be sung in English, with accompaniment by pianist Constantine Grame. Tickets are $16 adults; $14 for students and center members. Call 942-5605.
"STORM,' A SHORT FILM ON SCHOOL BULLYING , will be the springboard to a discussion at the New Port Richey Library's continuing series of films on human rights, "Common Threads." The film will be shown at 5:30 p.m. Monday, followed by the discussion. The library is at 5939 Main St., New Port Richey.
THE 1956 FILM "FRIENDLY PERSUASION' will be shown at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tarpon Springs Cultural Center, 101 S. Pinellas Ave. (Alt. U.S. 19), Tarpon Springs. The film stars Gary Cooper and Dorothy McGuire and is about a peaceful Quaker family trying to keep its ideals during the Civil War.
THE SUNSET BEACH CONCERT SERIES kicks off at 7 p.m. Thursday with the Tarpon Springs High School Jazz Band. Concerts will be held monthly through November at the beach, at no charge (though donations will be accepted). To reach the beach, go south on Alt. U.S. 19 through downtown Tarpon Springs, then west on Martin Luther King to the end of the street, turn south, go over the arched bridge and follow the road around the bayou to the sign pointing west to Sunset Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Those who attend may bring picnic lunches or buy hot dogs, sodas, nachos and popcorn at the food wagon. No alcohol or pets are allowed.
VISUAL ARTS
THE COLORFUL ART OF DUTCH ARTIST Sandra de Nijs continues at the Pasco Arts Council's art center through May 27. The center is at 5744 Moog Road, Holiday. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. An artist's walk and talk will be from noon to 3 p.m. May 7. Leonard Lewis' "Wild with Acrylics" exhibit continues through April in the Upstairs Gallery. Admission is free to both exhibits.
THE ALL MEDIA WILDLIFE ART SHOW continues through May 6 at the West Pasco Art Guild, 6206 Jefferson St., New Port Richey. Hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The exhibit includes oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastels, colored pencil, casting, clay and carvings.
THE ART EXHIBIT "IMPRESSIONS' continues through April at the Progress Energy Art Gallery, two doors south of Richey Suncoast Theatre on Grand Boulevard, New Port Richey. The exhibit includes watercolors by Jo Baughman, oil paintings by Suzanne Urash-Flores and sculptures by Elizabeth Perenich-Weaver. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
LEEPA-RATTNER MUSEUM OF ART concludes an exhibit by Vietnamese/American conceptual artist Hoang Van-Bui and area high school students under his direction on Sunday at the museum, 600 Klosterman Road, Tarpon Springs. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students. Sunday is free to everyone.
STUDENTS OF ALEX GROPPE will exhibit their art from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bishop Larkin School, 8408 Monarch Drive, Port Richey (off Little Road). Admission is $5 at the door. Wine and cheese will be served, compliments of the Knights of Columbus.

SHOW PALACE DINNER THEATRE is holding open auditions for the 2005-06 season from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Sunday at the theater, 16128 U.S. 19, Hudson. Roles are available for Equity and non-Equity performers ages 18 and older in No Sex, Please, We're British (British accents required; July 8-Aug. 14); Puttin' on the Ritz (Aug. 19-Sept. 15); Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (Sept. 30-Nov. 13); A Show Palace Christmas (Nov. 24-Dec. 25); Cabaret (Jan. 6-Feb. 26, 2006); Brigadoon (March 3-April 16); and Viva Vegas (April 21-May 28). Rehearsals begin three weeks prior to opening date. Performers should prepare two contrasting music theater songs and a brief comedic monologue and be prepared to dance. Housing is available. Those who have been cast or auditioned at the Show Palace before are encouraged to reaudition. Auditions for ages 17 and younger will be at a later date. Call Todd M.
