CARROLLWOOD -- Someone is removing shrubs from the medians along Lake Carroll Way and it's getting expensive. Members of Carrollwood Civic Association's board of directors estimate at least $500 worth of plants have disappeared recently. Some neighbors have pledged to keep a watchful eye on the shrubs that remain.

The plant thefts were discussed at a civic association board meeting on Monday.

Although the incidents have not been reported to the police, board members took time during their monthly meeting to air their frustration about the thefts.
