Cheap Thrill

Hoppers Brooker Creek Grill & Tap Room

Come here for the congenial warmth of a tap room and something more rare: beer made with as much care as the food. Hoppers' microbrewery makes a world class Pilsener called Royal Bohemian, clean and as balanced as the golden mean, and a full spectrum of originals, from pale ales to reds and browns.

The kitchen turns out solid pleasures, both retro and nouveau: Burgers like Mom and Dad made 'em with thick, juicy tomatoes; fresh soups; grease-free onion straws; perfect shrimp baskets; grilled veggies; and blackened scallops. Like the best taverns, they cook till midnight.

It's everyday eating and drinking at its best. If you're even close to the neighborhood, drop in. And hope Royal Bo's on tap. 36221 East Lake Road, Palm Harbor, (727) 786-2966.
